There is no …..best time to buy or sell in our community. We are blessed to have the largest naval base in the world and a strong military presence overal and that means people are always coming and going based on the needs of the military. Often people are hesitant or anxious when it comes to transfering to our local area, simply because they don’t know about all of the great things that our community has to offer. We are within a short drive to the mountains and camping opportunities, a manageable drive to the nation’s capital, dozens of historical sites, museums and theme parks. Our climate is mild and the four distinct seasons are gentle. We have 2 opportunities to catch a ride on the Amtrak train for a nice inexpensive ride to where ever we might want to go on a weekend get away or a vacation. Of course there is always the opportunity to enjoy the ocean and all that ocean side living has to offer.

State Parks to visit
There are many state and local parks to visit in the Virginia Beach area, well known and some are hidden. Stating out with the most well known park in Virginia Beach, Mount Thrashmore. This is just what it sounds like, it was at one time the city dump and now it is a wonderful place for young and old alike to enjoy themselves. There is a walking trail, a huge playgroung for toddlers, a track for the Soapbox Derby, and a great place to shoot off Fire works on the Forth of July. Munden Point Park is breath taking and certainly a hidden gem. There is plenty of out door sporting activities and even a ramp to put your boat in the water. First Landing Park is near the ocean front, close to the Fort Story Army post. It is actually on Shore drive. You will find many nature trails where you can certainly get one with nature. A true beauty for sure . There is tons of history in Chesapeake and you will certainly like the bew Great Bridge Museum. If you look for it, you will find American Revolutionary war history AND history from the war between the states. Hampton Roads, a community for everyone to enjoy
Our community offers something for everyone ! There are new and exciting shopping opportunities popping up everywhere such as the new Outlet Mall just off of I-64 near the Northampton exit, there are several neighborhood, city and state operated parks throughout the local area and friendly people everywhere you go. Sporting venues are abounant and range from the many school level to nationally ranked soccer teams and of course professional teams such as our own Tripple A baseball team, the Norfolk Tides, Norfolk Admirals hockey team and our very own NASCAR track, Langley Speedway has a weekly racing series program since 1950. If you have a classic car or simply have interest in seeing the kind of car that you might have seen in the movie American Graffiti , there are what is called local Cruise-in spots to visit. One such event happens each Saturday during the spring and Summer at the Landstown Commons Shopping Center in Virginia Beach.
